Five Music Festivals In Stunning Scenic Locations

After seeing the amazing scenes from Coachella Festival over the weekend we've been inspired for the festival season ahead. So, in ode to the beautiful surroundings of the Coachella Valley, we've sourced five music festivals from around the world set in stunning scenic locations.

Outlook Festival

Outlook Festival, Croatia - Set in an 150 year old fort along the beautiful Croatian coastline, Outlook Festival brings together the best sound systems, DJ, producers and live acts from around the world for a spectacular four day party. Now in its seventh year, Outlook offers party-goers a choice of 300 artists which can be seen at either 12 different music arenas or on one of 40 of their famous boat parties. Other highlights include parties in the moat around the Fort and an opening night concert set in a 2000 year old amphitheatre. Big names on this year’s bill include Ms Lauryn Hill, Busta Rhymes, Barrington Levy, Sir David Rodigan OBE and DJ Premier.

Sasquatch Festival

Sasquatch Festival, USA - Since 2002 America’s Sasquatch Music Festival has been taking full advantage of the picturesque Gorge Amphitheatre in George , Washington to provide a festival experience like no other. The weekend-long event puts emphasis on indie rock and singer-songwriter acts but there is also healthy doses of alt-rock, hip hop, dance music and comedy acts to keep revellers happy - if the absolutely stunning views of the Columbia River and neighbouring mountains weren’t enough, that is. This year’s line-up is laden with top acts from around the world such as Outkast, The National, Queens of the Stone Age, M.I.A, Haim, Foals, Major Lazor and hundreds more.

Taenafestivalen

Traenafestivalen, Norway - If you want to be at one with nature then Norway’s Træna Festival is definitely the place for you. Set 65km out into the North Pacific on the remote islands of Husøya and Sann, the four day festival is the perfect excuse to explore Nordic music, food, arts and culture in a truly unique way which proves that paradise does not have to be in the tropics. Venues at Træna – where almost all of the 400 local inhabitants are festival volunteers – include an ancient cave, a church with blacked-out windows (to block out the relentless 23-hours-a-day summer sun) and a variety of tents and marquees. Getting to the festival can be tricky, but you could always opt for the special seven day sailing cruise up the coast of Helgeland which arrives just in time for the first day of the event.

Festival Number 6

Festival No. 6, North Wales -A little closer to home, Festival No. 6 is located in the iconic fantasy village of Portmeirion, North Wales which was used as the location for the 1960s cult TV series ‘The Prisoner’. On its own private peninsula along the southern shores of Snowdonia, the festival site offers ocean, mountains, forests and of course the beautiful boutique buildings of Portmeirion to festival-goers for three days along with a soundtrack of leading national and international artists. Only in its second year, Festival No. 6 has bagged a stellar line up for 2014 which includes Beck, London Grammar and Bonobo, and more headliners are still to be announced.

Fuji Rock Festival

Far, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Fuji Rock allows you to unwind from the daily grind in a tranquil location along with the relaxing sounds of rock and roll.
