More than a decade after the release of American Idiot, Green Day presents their explosive rock doc time capsule Heart Like a Hand Grenade. See the raw footage of the songwriting, recording, and emotional risks and triumphs that culminated in this Grammy Award-winning punk rock opera.

Released in September 2004 the American trio (Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, & Tre Cool) achieved the Number 1 album spot in 11 countries, selling more than 15 million albums to date, spawning this hits; American Idiot, Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, Holiday, Wake Me Up When September Ends, and Jesus Of Suburbia. It won a Brit, an American Music Award, a Juno, and MTV Award, as 2 Grammy’s for Best Rock Album, and Record Of The Year.

“We can’t believe this was shot over a decade ago. Little did we know that this was only the beginning of the adventure this record would go on to be,” said lead singer Armstrong. “We are stoked for our fans to see this footage for the first time and watch us try and figure it all out.”
