Stone Island's Eco-Friendly Exhibition

Stone Island's Eco-Friendly Exhibition

Stone Island have taken their latest exhibition to Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. A week packed with events, exhibitions and presentations – the place where everyone’s who’s anyone in the design and manufacturing scene comes together to  keep up with the latest developments in the field.

One of our favourite Italian outerwear specialists Stone Island have partnered with Agnelli Milano Bici by Luca Agnelli and English designer John Alfredo Harris for an intriguing multi-medium exhibition titled ‘CRAFTWORKS.’

The presentation features a selection of hand-finished Stone Island garments that have been treated with a range of non-traditional techniques, including over drying and corrosive washing. The aim of the process is to recreate the uniforms of the Second World War soldiers, who rubbed soil on their uniforms to create an earthy camouflage.

Harris’s installation mixes thing up a bit with an array of furniture crafted from reclaimed and eco-friendly timber. The completed designs are crafted to insinuate clues as to the wood’s origins, giving the furniture, homewares and abstract objects a means of telling s tory of their original, natural shapes and forms.

Agnelli Milano Bici by Luca Agnelli exhibits a range of chic electric bikes using an assortment of vintage components from the 1950s. The antique frames are repurposed to create functional, 1-of-1 pieces of art.
