Showing her early life, as well as the height of her career and personal struggles – eventually leading to her death in 2011. This heart-breaking documentary features interviews with Amy’s ex lover Blake Fielder, Mos Def and her producer Salaam Remi. Bringing light to unseen footage as well as unheard tracks, the film shows how Winehouse admits to fearing her fame and the attention she gained from this.
The documentary was made by BAFTA winner Asif Kapadia, who also direct Senna – the film about the Brazilian Formula One driver who died in a fatal crash back in 1994.
Shown as a teaser to a small audience during a pre-Grammy event in February. The trailer follows the release of the movie’s official poster, the film is set for release in the UK in July.
