As well as having a whole host of new artists to watch out for in 2014 (see our previous music post), a number of established artists will also be releasing albums. We've picked our top five albums to look out from some familiar names.
Foo Fighters – TBA:
Foo Fighters (above) are ageing disgracefully and continue to make hit album after hit album. This album, their seventh, is produced by Butch Vig – producer of Nirvana’s Nevermind and The Smashing Pumpkin’s Gish, so expect another corker of an album from this group of seasoned rockers.
Warpaint – Warpaint:
The all-female psychedelic rock outfit from LA release their second studio album in January. The band’s first album, The Fool, was a huge hit and critics are expecting more of the same second time around.
Metronomy – Love Letters:
The London four-piece (above) have mastered the new wave sound, with latest single ‘I’m Aquarius’ showing they look capable of repeating the success of their 2011 Mercury Award nominated album, The English Riviera.
Adele – TBA:
The success of Adele’s second album, 21, broke nearly every record going and was the first album to sell more than three million copies in the UK in a single year. Whether or not her follow-up is anywhere near as good, expect it to be everywhere in 2014.
The Horrors – TBA:
The Southend-on-Sea shoegaze-rock quintet (below) release the follow up to 2011's Skying in 2014. In what signals a change of musical direction, the band has promised the new record will be ‘fun and danceable’.
