Autumn Movie Checklist

As all the summer blockbusters have pretty much hit our screens and now out on DVD, we’re looking forward to some epic movies that are due to be released over the next 6 months. From action thrillers, good old rom-coms, novel adaptations to genuine scary movies, this autumn looks to be one of the best. Movie buffs, this one’s for you...

1. Diana - released 20th September 2013
Naomi Watts is set to play our beloved Princess Diana in the upcoming movie biopic 'Diana'. Judging by the film poster, it looks as though we're going to see some of her famous images recreated as the film follows her final years and romantic affair with surgeon Dr Hasnat Khan. In preparation for the role, Ms Watts spent time with a vocal coach, even had access to Diana's wardrobe and donned a prosthetic nose for the film. Do we hear Oscar nominations?

2. Carrie - released 29th November 2013
The infamous Carries has been released once again and for those of you who aren't familiar, it's based on Stephen King's best selling horror novel starring Chloe Grace Moretz (the crazy Kick-Ass girl) and award winning Julianne Moore. Carrie is a shy, outcast girl and sheltered by her deeply religious mother, who unleashes terror and chaos on her small town after being taunted at her senior prom. Judging by the trailer, this looks to be the best adaptation yet

3. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - released 13th December 2013
It's one of those things where you've seen the Lord of the Rings and you've seen the first instalment of the Hobbit, so you'll HAVE to go and see number 2. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the adventure of Bilbo Baggins on his quest to rescue the lost dwarf kingdom of Erebor. Not due to be released until mid December, we're looking forward to some amazing cinematography and 3D action.

4. Anchorman: The Legend Continues - released 20th December 2013
This needs little if not any introduction. We've been waiting nine very long years for Ron Burgundy and crew to hit our screens again and finally on December 20th, they'll be back. I'll let the trailer speak for itself... "SAYYY WHATTTTTTT".

5. The Wolf of Wall Street - released 17th January 2014
We're going to have to wait until next year for this one, but we think it's worth it. Leonardo DiCaprio is back and playing the infamous Wall Street stockbroker Jordan Belfort on his rise to the high life. This adaptation of of Mr Belfort's memoir puts DiCaprio on the Oscar map once again, along with fellow co stars Jonah Hill and Matthew McConaughey.
