Eddie The Eagle - Film Trailer

Always Aim High

Eddie the Eagle follows the realisation of the childhood dream of Michael Edwards (a.k.a Eddie), and his unflinching determination to become Great Britain’s first Olympic ski-jumper. Reluctantly aided by former ski-jumper Bronson Peary as his coach, Eddie is unwavering in his quest to reach the 1988 Calgary Winter Games. Eddie the Eagle is an uplifting, inspirational story that celebrates human spirit, passion, and one man’s refusal to accept defeat.

Taron Egerton stars as the heroic underdog Edwards in this biographical sports drama, with Hugh Jackman taking on the role of Peary.

Produced by Matthew Vaughan, and directed by Dexter Fletcher, and with the soundtrack put together by Gary Barlow it reads like a who’s who of 1980 music with new songs from Tony Hadley, Marc Almond, Holly Johnson, Paul Young, Kim Wilde, Andy Bell, Midge Ure, Nik Kershaw, ABC, Go West, Howard Jones, and Heaven 17.

Already released in North America it has received great reviews, scoring 76% on online film review website Rotten Tomatoes.

Released by Lionsgate it previews in selected cinemas on March 28th, with it’s official full release on ironically (although surely deliberately timed) April 1st. Watch the UK and Ireland trailer for the film below.
