The European Senior Tour has begun today at the lavish Rockliffe Hall Hotel in Hurworth, Darlington. Taking place until Sunday 6th October, the lucky winner of the tournament will receive a £200,000 prize fund and the knowledge that Rockliffe Hall will also take part in the Senior Tour schedule for 2013 and 2014.
All eyes will be on three-time former winner Carl Mason as he begins his bid for a quartet of English Senior Open titles. Mason's challenge has already begun, teeing off at the tenth tee at 10:00am this morning. However another contender - Australian Peter Fowler will be close on his tail, having been victorious two weeks ago at the French Riviera Masters and will begin his first round today teeing off at 11:00am.
