So after months of speculation, "is it him, is it her" moments and multiple Mr Grey wishlists, the wait is finally over. It was announced this week that Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson will take the lead in the most anticipated erotic novel adaptation known to cinema - 50 Shades Of Grey. With our head offices based in the North East, we feel somewhat proud of our fellow Geordie lad Mr Hunnam for taking the lead and becoming the sadistic and mystifying Christian Grey.
The Sons of Anarchy star was just one of many possibilities for the roll, who also included Robert Pattinson, Ryan Gosling (our personal favourite), Ian Somerhalder and the oh so dreamy Chris Hemsworth. With Mr Grey's infamous broody and domineering personality, we'll be interested to see how Hunnam takes to the role.
Finding an Anastasia Steele must have been a difficult task as lets face it, who in Hollywood wants to be known as a 'misfit' and 'pretty, but not overly pretty'? So, it was quite a relief when up and coming 23 year old Dakota Johnson was announced as Ms Steele, as it would have been slightly strange referring to Mila Kunis as not overly pretty.
