New Season: Lacoste
History
After René Lacoste retired from his remarkable tennis career, he and André Gillier founded La Chemise Lacoste in 1933. Inspired by polo players in London, together they began to produce the revolutionary tennis polo shirts which Lacoste himself had worn on the tennis courts, finished with the iconic crocodile logo embroidered on the chest.
Up until 1951 the polo shirt was only available in white, thereafter the brand introduced a number of vibrant colours, making the company one of the most highly acclaimed sportswear brands in the world.
