Le Langhe

Best for lunch: Le Langhe

The Old Coach House, Peasholme Green, York YO1 7PW
t - 01904 622584

Taking their name and inspiriting from the beautiful Langhe hills in the Piedmont region of Italy, Le Langhe opened in 2002, to provide a truly authentic fast of small-scale artisan foods from Italy’s regions.

Le Langhe boasts a diverse and delicious antidote to the uniformity of food globalisation, owing to their use of hand-picked Italian regional ingredients and home-cooked, hand-made seasonal food. The Italy-born owners believe ‘there is no such thing as ‘Italian food’, rather an Italian understanding of flavours, which is continually being reinterpreted and blended with tradition.’

The restaurant and deli offers a diverse range of properly-made, artisan Italian products, hand-selected and imported direct from regional Italy, along with fresh fruits and vegetables from the Milan market. Whether it’s wild boar salumi from owner, Otto’s, mad friend Fernando in Tuscany, fragrant lemons from the Amalfi coast, Le Langhe pride themselves on using the finest Italian ingredients with a Yorkshire twist; sourcing the finest Whitby crab, and partridge from the moors amongst many others. The restaurant also has a fine wine list, with the pick of Italian wines from all over the country.

Lunch at Le Langhe is centred around the fresh charcuterie and cheeses available from the deli, with a tasting menu and fresh pastas also available.
