Your alarm clock can now be a personal assistant. By learning about your agenda and hobbies, Bonjour helps make the most of each day. Check out our new favourite Kickstarter appeal.
Meet, Bonjour. She’s a revolutionary voice-controlled and A.I. enhanced alarm clock that acts as your personal assistant. With a human voice and mindful mannerisms, she’s the first alarm clock you’ll be happy to wake up to.
Bonjour can adjust your wake-up time if certain conditions are fulfilled. Let’s say you have a meeting and you can’t be late: Bonjour will check traffic reports and may wake you up earlier than scheduled if there’s a major traffic jam. Or, say you’d like to start your Sunday with a 6 AM run: Bonjour will check the weather and let you sleep in if there’s any rain or storms.
When integrated with devices like FitBit, Apple Health, or Withings, Bonjour is able to track how many steps you've taken throughout the day. If you haven't been very active, weather is good, and your schedule allows, Bonjour will suggest you go for a run, helping you reach your fitness goals – this may or may not be a welcome feature.
It can also sync with home apps such as Wemo, Nest, Lifx, and Hue to adjust the temperature of your home with a simple command. It can also adjust your smart thermostat or lighting automation based on your wake-up time. For example, if you need to wake up earlier than usual, Bonjour can adjust your thermostat so you'll have a warm and lit home when you wake up.
It can also play music, and quite impressively link up to security cameras around the house too, or even something less sinister, but just as helpful like a baby monitor.
Bonjour's brain is built in the cloud, so she will get smarter everyday by learning your preferences, gaining new skills, and learning new requests from the Bonjour user community, and naturally the more you speak to her the more she recognizes and gets accustomed to your voice.
You can also receive video and text message through the device as well as using it as a charging station as it comes with a USB port.
To get a better idea of how it works take a look at the video below, and head on over to their Kickstarter page here for a much more up in depth info of Bonjours features and benefits. There you can also back the project, although such was the anticipation for the product (the idea was thought up back at the end of 2014) that the project was backed within the first 24 hours raising the $50,000 required.
As of writing this there’s still 32 days to go, and already it has been backed to the tune of $275,000.
