The Cool Material Drinking Glasses

Ever since the guys at Cool Material launched their online shop, their aim has been to stock it with unique, well-made goods from a wide variety of makers taking pride in hand-selecting every item they carry. From small batch leather goods to Made in the USA work accessories and better bottle openers, you get the feeling they truly love every product they sell.

In a world filled with big box stores, they believe it’s important to have smaller shops who truly care about what they offer. Despite being a relatively small company (consisting of just 8 people), they stock, package, and ship all the products they sell themselves, because it’s important to make sure your order is taken care of properly.

Looking over their site there is so much that grabs your attention, but one that really drew us in were the drinking glasses (I’m not sure what that says about us!)

Here are 5 of the best drinkware they offer:

Matterhorn Glasses

How do you unwind after a gruelling day of hiking? How about a bit of whiskey from your new Matterhorn Glass. Inspired by the famous mountain in the Alps, the glass is way more interesting than your average tumbler. Crafted out of crystal, the glass looks even more impressive when it’s half-filled with some of the good stuff than it does when sitting on the shelf, which is good because you’ll want to use it often and show it off. You may never conquer the 14,500+ ft mountain, but you can conquer a few fingers of Johnnie Walker after work.

Hopside Down Beer Glass

The sound of the top popping off a nice frosty cold one is music to our ears. Drinking it, however, is much better out of a glass. The beer gets some much needed air and, more importantly, gets that delicious head. The glasses you already have will do the same thing as this Hopside Down glass, but they won’t look nearly as good in the process. Crack a cold one and pour it into this optical illusion and you’ll get all the benefits of glass and it will look like a bottle.

Rocking Whisky Glasses

There was a time when a man came home from a long day of work, poured himself a few fingers of scotch and slowly melted into his favourite chair. As much as we like that classic idea of slight intoxication, we do want to add a bit of modern fun to our after work beverages. That’s why we pour our Maker’s Mark into these Rocking Whiskey Glasses from Sagaform. Designed by Swedish designer Roger Persson, each of these 6 ¾-ounce tumblers will rock around but won’t tip over. Each set contains six whiskey glasses making it an ideal purchase for any home bar.

Gentleman’s Glassware

You know that feeling you get when you're about to crack the wax on a bottle of Maker's Mark? Now you can salivate in the same way when you pour a few fingers into one of these tumblers. Each glass is dipped in a black polymer to mimic that wax look on a bottle of fine booze. The set of four 11 oz glasses makes for the perfect collection to have on hand when a few friends come by to sample your good stuff. Much more impressive options than the glasses you use for juice and soda.

Beer Shot Glasses

For the nights when a little buzz won’t cut it, there’s the Beer/Shot Glass. On one side you have the ability to pour yourself a nice craft beer to enjoy, and on the other, the ability to follow it up with a shot of something wicked to get the party started. It will also save you valuable cabinet space and you won’t have to worry about knocking over all those little glass shooters. Just keep tabs on liver.

And if these have given you a thirst there’s almost 30 options of glasses at their website here, as well as a host of other practical, cool, quirky and fun gadgets here.
