Having waited over 10 years we are now less than 4 months away from newest Star Wars film: The Force Awakens being released. With the excitement and anticipation starting to build companies across the world are releasing products based around the iconic franchise. So much so that last Friday was dubbed ‘Force Friday’ by the media.
Of the many gizmos and gadgets released one has clearly stood out, and captured the public’s interest. Whether you're a kid or a big kid you’re going to love The Sphero BB-8. The smartphone-controlled BB-8 droid is the genius vision of Boulder, Colorado-based startup company Sphero.
The tiny version of the spherical droid responds to directional inputs as well as a wide range of preset commands, such as ‘patrol’ which will send it zipping around the room while it emits its signature chirps and squeaks. It really has an adaptive personality that changes as you play.
Thanks to an included charging dock, the toy offers about an hour of play off a three-hour charge, and perhaps best of all, BB-8′s software can be updated via the app, meaning Sphero will likely add a number of new features following its release.
