Eddie Murphy To Return For Beverly Hills Cop 4

Beverly Hills Cop

The word’s out, a Beverly Hills Cop sequel that will see the return of unconventional Detroit cop Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) is in the pipeline.

Originally penned for a 1990s release, the project hit several speed bumps but now, with original producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Brett Ratner on board, Beverly Hills Cop 4 is finally happening!

For those unfamiliar with the films, Murphy plays a brash Detroit cop who takes his unorthodox policing to an unexpected Los Angeles in search for his friend’s killer against a truly iconic soundtrack.

Having left his Beverly Hills post during the coldest winter on record, the sequel sees Axel Foley return to his Detroit stomping ground to contend with old enemies and new rules in an action-packed tale spiced with Murphy’s renowned, streetwise wit.

The latest instalment of the series - which helped make Eddie Murphy a household name - is set to create $56.5 million in spending and provide 318 full-time jobs – a welcome opportunity for the financially burdened Michigan city. And, although there’s no official word on when filming will start, the script is finished and the movie has been slated for a March 2016 release date. We can’t wait.

To jog your memory, here’s the trailer for the original 1984 film to get you warmed up.
