The highly anticipated sequel to one of the biggest films of the last 10 years is almost upon us as Marvel pull out all the stops for the return of the brilliant but dysfunctional Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2.
The original film released in mid-2014 went on to take more the three quarters of a billion dollars the box office - the third most that year, and the highest grossing superhero film.
It was a critical success as well receiving a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is no mean feat considering it was reviewed by 288 people.
This time around ‘The team struggles to keep its newfound family together as it tries to unravel the mystery of Peter Quill's true parentage in the outer reaches of the galaxy’.
Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn and Glenn Close all reprise their roles in the film which is again written and directed by James Gunn.
It gets its theatrical release in the UK on April 28th, which is actually 8 days before the US, and you can see the final trailer release from Marvel below.
And to cement its place as a genuine franchise Vol. 3 is already at a planning stage.
