There’s not long to wait for Kasabian’s new album '48:13' and, for everyone here at VM headquarters, the June 9 release date cannot come quick enough.
The artwork for the band’s fifth album was showcased as a mural on a shop on Kingsland Road, London and is, unsurprisingly, the album’s length. Speaking of the impending release, guitarist, writer, producer, singer and G-Star RAW model Sergio Pizzorno said “I felt that we had the confidence to be more direct, more honest with this album. I started to strip away layers rather than to just keep adding."
Embracing a ‘less is more’ ethos, frontman Tom Meighan pitched in “It’s direct. It is what it is. Just listen to it. We’ve had the confidence to lay ourselves bare. Serge has stripped it right back. It’s unbelievable."
Kasabian will headline Glastonbury in June with Arcade Fire and Metallica, amongst a whole host of other UK and European gigs and festivals. To whet your appetite, you can also listen to 48:13’s first single, Eez-Eh, below.
