How often have you heard a song you thought sounded a lot like something else? With musicians and record companies fiercely protective of their music, even a mere suggestion that one track might sound like another is enough to get the lawyers involved. There have been countless examples of claim and counter claim between artists for issues of alleged plagiarism, some of the most interesting can be found in this Daily Telegraph article.

Now one of the biggest tracks of the year has been caught up in the sound-a-like controversy. The musicians behind Blurred Lines, Robin Thicke, Pharrell Williams and Clifford Harris Jr, have been accused by the family of Marvin Gaye of ripping off his 1977 hit Got to Give it Up.
