Dare You Dip In The Devil's Pool?

Devils Pool Victoria Falls

There's an enormous amount of places we'd like to visit in the world (as you can probably tell by our many travel posts) but very few lure us in more than the enchanting Devil's Pool at Victoria Falls, Zambia.

Easily one of the world's most magnificent natural infinity pools, Devil's Pool lies at the edge of a 100m drop over the edge of the world's largest waterfall with breathtaking views of the Zambia-Zimbabwe border.

During dry season when river flow is at its lowest (most commonly from September to December), daredevil swimmers are invited to splash around in Devil's Pool, with many choosing to jump right in and let the strong current send them towards the inches-thin lip of rock which acts as the safety barrier.

A definite must on the bucket lists of all thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies, the Devil's Pool offers a small area of serenity in an area known by locals as 'The Smoke That Thunders'.

For those brave enough to take a dip in the Devil's Pool, Tongabezi offer guided tours up to the World Heritage Site.
