The Floating Hotel On The Amazon

For some people an ideal holiday is staying in a 5-Star hotel, and for others it is seeing a natural wonder of the world. Aqua Expeditions have combined both of these, and you can now stay in a 5-Star 'floating hotel' one of (if not) the most famous river in the world - The Amazon.

This five-star floating hotel, called Aria, along with its sister ship, the Aqua, cruise along the Amazon River in Peru and offer the journey of a lifetime! The ship was custom built by architect Jordi Puig to offer all the luxuries of a standard, non-floating 5-star hotel. Upon boarding the ship, guests are met with extreme comfort and adventure as they experience an unforgettable voyage in one of the world’s most remote destinations.

As the ship docks along the river, knowledgeable and experienced naturalists take the guests, via small launches, into remote estuaries in the Peruvian rain forest and the Pacaya Samiria Reserve. You can explore the pristine wilderness areas that are teeming with wildlife, and you may also encounter local people living in villages as they have for centuries. And when the day's sightseeing is over, the comforts of the luxurious floating hotel will awaits.

At 147 feet long the ship can accommodate 32 guests in the 16 luxury suites (4 of which can interconnect for family’s etc). The cabins are all air conditioned, as well as being en suite, and are described as, “outside-facing with seating area and large panoramic windows that enable you to get the 'big picture' of the rivers and their banks from the comfort of your cabin".
Other areas to relax include the observation deck, the outside lounge, the outdoor Jacuzzi, the air-conditioned indoor bar, and the exercise room. Guests can also take in the panoramic view as they enjoy a fine meal in the dining room or pick up a few souvenir gifts in the boutique shop. What a spectacular journey!

Cruises go from 3, 4 or 7 nights, and you can see more pictures below, and read more about it or book a trip here.
