The true story of the 1973 tennis match between then Women's World Number One Billie Jean King and former Men's Champion and serial hustler Bobby Riggs.
The 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs became the most watched televised sports event of all time. Trapped in the media glare, King and Riggs were on opposites sides of a binary argument, but off-court each was fighting more personal and complex battles. With her husband urging her to fight for equal pay, the private King was also struggling to come to terms with her own sexuality, while Riggs gambled his legacy and reputation in a bid to relive the glories of his past.
The film stars Emma Stone as King, Steve Carell as Riggs, as well as a host of other big names including Andrea Riseborough, Sarah Silverman, Bill Pullman, Alan Cumming, and Elisabeth Shue.
It is directed by husband and wife team Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris who worked together on the multiple time Oscar-nominated Little Miss Sunshine, and one of the three directors was Danny Boyle.
Battle Of The Sexes is due for release in the UK on November 24th, but you can watch the trailer for the movie below.
