Warner Brothers have released the first trailer for the anticipated action adventure film Rampage. Staring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and based on the iconic 80’s video game series the film sees several once friendly animals genetically altered to become alpha predators that need stopping.
Primatologist Davis Okoye, a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered alpha predators. As these newly created monsters tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.
Big Meets Bigger in this Warner Brothers film based on the Midway Games 1986 release of the same name that actually had the rights bought to it way back in 2009.
Directed by Brad Peyton who is best known for directing the disaster movie San Andreas as well as Dwayne Johnson, the film also features Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
With a release date of April 20th expect more trailers in the future, but for now check the first one out below.
