Taking it’s name from the Pyrenees mountain range, fashion brand Pyrenex was founded over 150 years ago by Frenchman Abel Crabos, and was primarily a raw-feather business until 1960, when it branched out into manufacturing down bedding, sleeping bags and clothing. This was actually built on the success of Abel’s daughter-in-law Marie who made the first down filled jackets for prisoners during World War II to protect them from the cold.
