We humans we create, we work, we stay busy from birth to death and never rest. We build, aim higher, work harder, accomplish more, and to what end? "Balance" takes an abstract look at our modern world, the full and the empty spaces and time in which we live and choose to make our lives.
The New York City skyline is probably the most iconic and visually recognisable in the world, which also means it’s probably among the most photographed. But there’s always room for the truly creative to innovate, which is what filmmakers (and Brooklyn natives) Brandon Bray and Tim Sessler have done with their short film Balance, which somehow manages to make New York City look brand new.
If you think once you’ve seen one drone film you’ve seen them all then think again. Using the prototype octocopter Freefly Alta 8, two extra motors allow for higher payloads meaning it can lift and use more equipment, and in turn produce even more stunning results with multiple perspectives, views and twists.
