Everyone knows that footwear speaks volumes about the wearer, but when it comes to Brazilian plastic footwear brand Melissa, little is left to be said. With their bright, brash and unusual designs, the Melissa shoe is anything but discrete. Having already been in a number of successful design collaborations, including with one of our favourites Vivienne Westwood, the latest collab with globally recognised fashion talent, visionary designer and creative director of Moschino, Jeremy Scott has got us very excited.
In suit of Melissa’s previous whacky styles, Scott has channelled his own passion for pop culture and humour into the AW16 collection to produce yet more eye-catching designs. In a spectrum of vivid colours and pastel hues, Scott explained his inspiration behind the design: “Being my first foray into plastic footwear, I wanted to play with the concept of inflatable pool toys” which explains the rather unusual addition of a mock air nozzle featured on all Melissa x Jeremy Scott styles.
Scott is known for his eccentric, cheeky and colourful take on contemporary fashion. His passion for humour and art has never been more evident that in this latest collection, and we can’t wait for you to get your hands on your very own style! Check out a few pieces from the fun collection below!
