When it comes to Kenzo, three things are guaranteed: graphics, youth and energy. Ever since the fashion house was founded in Paris 1964 by a visiting Japanese man named Kenzo Takada, the brand has delivered the best in quirky and cool separates. With a staggering 1.2 million followers on Instagram, it’s clear that Kenzo has a huge fan base, and with American creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon at the helm things only seem to be looking up.
For AW16, Kenzo have delivered a collection composed of more sombre colours. A colour palette of black, navy, grey and burgundy makes for a very wearable wardrobe addition, as opposed to some of the more eccentric, occasion specific Kenzo pieces. Of course, the Tiger head motif is ever present in the new season collection, and is adorned on everything from sweatshirts to t-shirts. As far as branded garments go, it’s difficult to become more iconic than Kenzo.
