We're huge fans of Stone Island's technical engineering here at Van Mildert and have found the perfect video to showcase the Mesh Reflective Jacket in all of its technical glory. To explain the mechanics of the 1000's of microspheres coating the Mesh Reflective jacket, the video looks at how light behaves and shows us the two principles at work - reflection and refraction.
The purpose of a telescope is to collect light and the telescope in this video uses a spherical primary mirror to collect the light. The larger the telescope's main light-collecting element, the more light collected - which in turn determines the level of detail. The light gathering capability creates very bright, high contrast images. So watch and discover this great piece of Stone Island in action.
