The Architectural Photography Awards

A photograph is only as good as the person taking it. A shot of a brick reservoir in London's Finsbury Park might sound dull, but it has been selected as the best architecture photograph of the year at the Arcaid Images Architectural Photography Awards 2016 where it was up against some stunning snaps.

The Arcaid Images Architectural Photography Awards aims to highlight the expertise of specialist architectural photographers, and this year accepted entries under four categories: Exteriors, Interiors, Sense of Place and Buildings in Use.

The shot of the brick reservoir in London's Finsbury Park was chosen by a panel of 6 expert judges, and was taken by British photographer Matt Emmett, and captures the brick arches of the covered reservoir, which was designed by the East London Waterworks Company in 1868.

The other 19 shortlisted entries alongside the winning image will feature in the ‘Building Images’ exhibition at Sto Werkstatt, London, during February.
The images will also feature in an exhibition at the Architektur Galerie, during March 2017.
