The iPhone Photography Awards 2016

 

Now in it’s 9th year the iPhone Photography Award winners have just been announced, and they feature some truly stunning images that could well prove that the best camera to have around just might be one you carry in your pocket every day.

With over 1 billion active iPhones users currently in the world it is safe to say that this is an award waiting to be won by anyone. All it needs is for someone to be in the right place at the right time, and with a bit of imagination and creativity and award winning picture can be taken.

The only rules are as follows:

‘All images must be taken with an iPhone, iPod or an iPad. The photos should not be altered in any desktop image processing program such as Photoshop. It is Ok to use any iOS apps.
The use of any iPhone/iPad App is permissible. iPhone add-on lenses can be used.
The submissions must be in the original size or not smaller than 1000 pixels in either height or width.’

There are 18 categories that pictures can be entered into, which are the following…
Abstract, Animals, Architecture, Children, Floral, Landscape, Lifestyle, Nature, News and Events, Panorama, People, Portrait, Series (comprising of 3 images), Still Life, Sunset, Travel, Trees, and Other.

This year’s overall winner can be seen at the top of the page, and went to Siyuan Niu of China for his stunning ‘Man and the Eagle’ photograph, which for the record was simply take on an iPhone 5s.
