Glow: Laser Headphones

You know us guys at VM Life love a cool Kickstarter idea, so when we came across the Glow Laser Headphones, we instantly thought it was one of the best we’ve seen in ages.

Music and lasers have gone together as long as we can remember, but the combination is found more often at festivals and clubs than in your own personal space.
However a new set of earbud headphones making a run on Kickstarter are aiming to bring the dazzle of laser light right into the cords that dangle around your neck, and better yet they beat or pulse in conjunction with the music you're playing.

The cords of the Glow headphones are made from Corning's Fibrance material, which conducts laser light through flexible glass fibres. That light will flash on and off in accordance with whatever music you're playing on your device.

They are comfortable, lightweight, durable, and most importantly provide super clear balanced sound.

The earbud cords also hold a few extra goodies. There's an inline microphone and a button where the two cables from each ear meet, allowing you to take and end calls with a single push.
There's also another five-way controller lower down on the cord that allows you to control your music and activate other smartphone features like taking a picture or activating voice-to-text functionality. This is handy for searching the web or responding to texts.

They are fully compatible with popular apps such as Spotify, Google Play Music, Pandora and more, so there should be no shortage of music.

The earphones have already proved popular, with the company securing its $100’000 total in just a few days (the current total stands at over $350’000 with 32 days still to go!), however this isn't the end of it though, as Glow have introduced something called ‘Stretch Goals’.
If the makers of Glow are successful in reaching their stretch goals, the cords will also beat in accordance with your steps thanks to a built-in accelerometer, and with your heartbeat, which will be read by a sensor inside the earbuds themselves.
