North East Comedy Central

It may still seem like ages away, and I guess it is, but October promises to be a very special month for North East comedy fans.

The anti-popularist, tabloid-hating Stewart Lee kicks off proceedings with two nights at The Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre on October 10 and 11. Tickets start at £18.

Next is the turn of Stephen K Amos at The Stand on October 21. The Nigerian comedian is notorious for getting his audience to participate in his shows so if you don’t want to be involved make sure you sit at the back. Tickets cost £16.

Finishing off the month is the long-haired lothario Russell Brand, whose epic world tour rolls into Newcastle’s City Hall on October 31. Tickets start at the eye-watering sum of £27.50.

And if you still haven’t had your fill of comedy then on November 5, Paul Foot will be setting off some fireworks of his own when he performs at The Stand with tickets costing a mere £12.50.
