The Evolution Of Batman In Cinema

The DC Comics superhero Batman has had quite a journey through cinema as this supercut from Jacob T. Swinney called ‘The Evolution Of Batman In Cinema’ proves.

It shows the Dark Knight’s evolution throughout his time on screen, with clips from the original 1943 TV series, to his first movie in 1966, all the way through to Christopher Nolan’s directed trilogy staring Christian Bale, and Batman’s appearance in last year’s The Lego Movie.

One thing that Swinney demonstrates is that no matter the setting, no matter the actor, or no matter the era, Batman can still be the same crime-fighting caped crusader that’s captivated audiences for more than 75 years.

And if this wets your appetite you’ll be pleased to know that Batman will be returning to our screens in 2016 with Ben Afleck as the masked vigilante.

Here’s a full list of the TV series and films featured in the video
