We all know that world of motorsport incorporates many disciplines. There is obviously no way of telling which one has the best driver……well actually there is, and there has been for the past 25 years!
The Race Of Champions is an annual event held at the end of each year featuring 16 of the world’s best drivers who compete head to head in a round robin tournament using a wide variety of identical cars so that no single person has an advantage.
This year the event is being held in on the 13-14th December at the Bushy Park Circuit in Barbados, and features racers from the disciplines of Formula 1, Touring Cars, Nascar, Endurance, Rallycross, & IndyCar to name a few, and for the first time ever will include a female racer as Great Britain’s Susie Wolff takes part. Wolff is also joined by fellow Brit, and F1 legend David Coulthard.
The event has always proved a huge hit with motorsport fans, and previous winners include the late great Colin McRae, who still to date has been the only British winner of the event.
There is also a team event as traditionally the 16 competitors taking part are made up from 8 countries. For the last 6 years the reigning Champions gave been Team Germany consisting of the formidable partnership of Michael Schumacher & Sebastian Vettle.
