A Record Breaking Video Game

October saw Grand Theft Auto V confirm its place in the Guinness World Records by breaking not one, but six world records. Released on the 17 September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, the video game sold over 11 million copies in its first 24 hours and generated revenue of $1 billion in sales after just 3 days.

The records included the highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours and the fastest entertainment property to gross $1 billion. The previous record was held by Call of Duty.
