As far as the Brits were concerned, July was a biggie... Andy Murray kicked things off on July 7 when he beat Novak Djokovic 6-4 7-5 6-4 in straight sets to be crowned Wimbledon Champion - the first British man to do so since Fred Perry in 1936. In an atmosphere that was reminiscent of the summer 2012 Olympics, the crowd roared Murray on until the final ball.
As the national caught their breath from Wimbledon, excitement mounted again for the arrival of the Royal Baby and future King of England. Prince George Alexander Louis was born on July 22 and was presented to the world in arms of new mum Kate the following day. A month that many will not forget.
